Fellure Foods
is a third-generation, family-owned grocery business serving the people of
Benton and Tippecanoe counties of Indiana.
Beginning in
the early 1950’s, founders, Floyd and Helen Fellure operated a small grocery
store and gas station on US Highway 52 in Swanington, Indiana. The State
planned a new four-lane highway that ran through their property; so in 1955,
they purchased the IGA grocery store in Oxford, Indiana. Shortly afterwards,
the family business was moved to one of its present locations on the southeast
corner of Oxford’s town square.
In 1975, their
eldest son, Kenneth Fellure, took purchase of the business and along with his
wife, Melissa Fellure, remodeled and expanded the store. In 1984, they
purchased the store in nearby Otterbein, Indiana and it was overseen by
Kenneth’s son, Drew Fellure. Drew and Pauline Fellure married in 1991 and also
acquired the Otterbein location. Later in 2001, they purchased the Oxford store
upon Kenneth and Melissa's retirement.
With a look to
the future, Drew and Pauline Fellure decided to renovate their Oxford location
and replace their Otterbein operation by creating a unique 16,000 square-foot
grocery market/convenience store/gas facility on land just east of downtown
Otterbein on US Highway 52. The grand opening of this location was held in
October 2004. The entire Fellure family has enjoyed the opportunity and strives
to continually serve the needs of the area residents.
